Highly recommended, and I would definitely rent a car from them again. I made an initial reservation, which I had to modify at the last minute, and they accommodated me completely without any problems. Everything was very transparent; they don't charge a deposit (most companies require deposits of around €1400) or any strange, unexpected additional fees. The car was in perfect condition and had the necessary power to easily handle very steep roads. The customer service was excellent throughout; they were incredibly friendly. They also left a free magnet, bottles of water, and added a complimentary phone holder. I highly recommend them, and many thanks to the team behind the rental for their patience and excellent service.

Our experience with GAR105 couldn't have been better. They gave us a SEAT Arona in perfect condition, and it didn't give us any problems at all during the entire trip (although we do recommend renting automatic cars because there are a lot of incredibly steep hills all over the island). The communication with the agency was excellent, and Tania was incredibly friendly. We will definitely use them again if we return to Madeira!

When I was choosing a rental car for Madeira, I had two main priorities in mind: a car that was small enough for the island’s roads but at the same time powerful enough to handle the steep climbs, and a rental company with transparent terms and conditions. I checked more than 10 different rental companies and was probably quite "demanding" with all my questions. In the end, I chose GAR 105 Car Rental Madeira because their terms were genuinely fair, there were no hidden costs, and, most importantly, I knew exactly what car I would be getting and what engine it would have. And that is exactly what happened – I received precisely the type of car I had been promised. Ms Tania, whom I communicated with very easily via WhatsApp, was extremely friendly and helpful. The car came with a beach bag, which turned out to be very useful, shopping bags, an umbrella and a sunshade, as well as two bottles of water and a lovely Madeira magnet. She had even thought of providing a USB adapter for the phone cable and had set the car’s language to our native language. Small touches like these really leave a great impression. I believe you can often tell the most about a company by how they respond when something goes wrong. During our rental, a minor issue with the car came up – something that was nobody’s fault and simply beyond anyone’s control. Despite it being in the evening, Ms Tania was immediately available by phone, took the situation seriously and offered a solution straight away. For me, that kind of response says much more about the quality of a company than when everything simply goes according to plan. On top of all this, the rental price was very competitive and actually among the lowest I found during my search. The next time I visit Madeira, I will definitely be very happy to choose GAR 105 Car Rental Madeira again, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and transparent car rental company on the island.

Absolutely great experience! This was my first time renting a car by myself, so I was a little nervous, but everything with GAR 105 was easy, smooth and stress-free from the beginning to the end. The service was extremely friendly and helpful, and I really appreciated all the little details like magnet and a bottle of water as a welcome gift, and even an umbrella in the car in case we needed it. Small things, but they make a big difference! 😊 Driving and parking in Madeira can be quite challenging, but the car was great and after several hundred kilometres around the island everything went perfectly. All the time a can message for help and respond was for like 3 minutes later! Awesome! Car was prepared and language set for my origin country. The car was clean, reliable, modern, and everything worked perfectly. I drove a SEAT Arona with an automatic transmission, and I was really happy with it. They even asked me in advance if I needed an adapter in case I had a different type of charging cable. They really thought of everything and made sure I had everything I needed. Great service! I can definitely recommend GAR 105. Professional, friendly and personal service. 🚗🏝️

Great experience! We rented a Peugeot 208 for 5 days. The car was absolutely perfect and allowed us to explore the island with complete peace of mind. Fantastic car rental in Madeira - would highly recommend. Good quality car which was perfect for the steep and fast roads. Personalised drop off and pick up at a location of your choosing, with great and friendly communication throughout, alongside useful information to help with your trip, and service with a smile. Also very refreshing to see proper honest service, without trying to squeeze extra money out of you for minor scratches etc, like many rental places. Also a small gift on arrival was a nice surprise and put a smile on our faces. 10/10 - the best car rental in Madeira.

After a very negative experience with an only apparently reliable car rental in Iceland (see my profile), I was genuinely relieved to finally find a reliable and customer-focused company in Madeira. From the very first contact, Tania has been consistently kind, responsive, and highly professional. Upon arrival at the airport, she was already waiting for us with a Seat Arona automatic, ready for immediate pick-up. The vehicle was spotless and in excellent condition. What really stood out, however, was the level of care and attention to detail: bottled water provided in the car, a picnic tablecloth, and even a small welcome souvenir, which was a very thoughtful touch. Having rented cars many times for both leisure and work, I have rarely encountered this level of attentiveness and customer care. The overall experience was smooth, reliable, and genuinely exceptional.

We were recommended this company - and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone else! From the first contact it has been seamless, to booking car, pick up and drop off at airport. We were met by Tânia, who showed us around the car which was in perfect condition (brand new). Little complimentary gestures made by the company such as bottles of water and a souvenir to keep made all the difference. In the boot was the use of an umbrella, cool bag with picnic blanket and shopping bags - which were very useful during our trip. We felt very confident in this company - and were made to feel that we were trusted also. The drop off again was perfect, Tânia was waiting for us as we arrived and again was easy - no fuss. Such an easy and stress-free car rental experience from start to finish. They dropped the car off directly at my hotel exactly when I needed it, and at the end of the trip they picked it up from a completely different location which made everything so convenient. Very impressed with GAR 105 Car Rental! Communication was excellent from the first enquiry I made about costings. The process was made very simple to choose what car, level of insurance cover and even select extras such as phone holder in the car. The price was very affordable and ended up being great value for money. Tania kept in touch via WhatsApp and brought the vehicle, a Seat Arona automatic, to our hotel in Santa Cruz. She was bang on time and quickly explained any things about the car I wasn't sure about. She also gave me information on parking in Madeira, a map and other info about the area!. I had initially rented the car for 2 days, from 12pm on Tuesday until 12pm on Thursday. Once I began to use the car I asked if I was able to keep hold of it for another 6hrs on the final day. This request was no issue at all and the price to do so was more than ok. Tania arrived to pick up the car at the agreed time, again at our hotel. The whole process was quick, simple and no hassle at all. The standard of vehicle was brilliant and perfect for the roads and hills. Renting the car made our stay in Madeira so much more enjoyable and we were really able to see the true 'Madeira', without having to go on different trips. If I return to Madeira I will use GAR 105 again without hesitation and will certainly recommend it to anyone that I know that may be planning to visit this beautiful place. Thank you so much🙏

We loved everything, and the service was excellent from the moment we booked the car to the moment we returned it. Tánia, the owner, was incredibly pleasant, always available and helpful. The car was in excellent condition and exactly the one we booked. A nice bonus was that the car was additionally equipped with everything we needed, from umbrellas and blankets to water for the road. Such a great experience renting from Tania at GAR 105. She dropped the car off at our hotel and we returned it to the airport with no problem. When she learned we had a baby with us, she even brought a sun shade and seat organizer! She sent really important and useful local information about hiking trails and weather while we were there, which I would not have known about otherwise. It is a real pleasure to rent from nice people - highly recommend!

Gar105’s car rental was the best decision I could have made for my trip in Madeira. I was able to see everything around the entire island with the car. I rented an automatic suv for a very good price, and it came with waters, bags for groceries, a towel, umbrella for beaches, and a complimentary souvenir for no extra fee! Tânia helped me with the rental pickup and drop off. She also gave very insightful information for driving around Madeira, where to park, what gps to use, and gave constant help throughout my trip. I recommend renting a car from Gar105!

Great experience, I couldn't have chosen a better car rental company to explore the island from Santa Cruz. The car was delivered to the hotel on time, Tânia was very nice, explained everything and also sent useful tips on how to enjoy the island. The car was returned very quickly, and after a while Tânia called me to say that I had forgotten my hat in the car - she brought it to the restaurant where we had dinner. WOW! I have no words. Best car rental ever!!! I booked a fiat 500 hybrid for 6 days. Tania was super helpful and answering all questions , also helping for many things. The car comes with umbrella, blanket, cooling bag and water which are very useful in Madeira. I booked the car without insurance and didn’t have any issue . They directly inspected the car when I returned and refunded my deposit right away. So it is not a scam like other car rental company (however, now I think that it would be nice get insurance actually because of the Madeira hard road condition) About car: it is a new well maintained car with car play. It has small engine but was able to climb Madeira uphills and gives advantage since it is a small car. I would suggest to get more powerful car if you don’t like small engine . My special thanks to Tania once again!
